Community Guidelines: The "Naija Way"

Welcome to the portal! 234Voter is a place for Better Data and a Better Nigeria. To keep this house clean and useful for everyone, we follow these simple rules:

  1. Respect the Person, Debate the Policy
We are here to talk about government policies—past, present, and future.
    • Do: Use facts to explain why you like or dislike a law.
    • Don’t: Attack another user’s person, tribe, or religion. We are one Nigeria on this app.

  1. No “Shakara” with the Truth
In line with the Cybercrimes (Amendment) Act 2024, spreading “fake news” is a serious matter.
    • Only post information you know is true.
    • If you are sharing a report about a government project, try to include the source.
    • Misleading others to cause “wahala” or fear is against our rules and the law.

  1. Keep it Peaceful (No Incitement)
This is a portal for Democracy, not for “Agbakọ” (trouble).
    • We do not allow posts that encourage violence, illegal protests, or anti-government activities.
    • Your voice is your weapon here—use your vote and your words, not threats.

  1. Protect the Children
Nigerian law is very strict about protecting minors online.
    • No “lewd” or pornographic content.
    • No “Cyber-bullying” of any kind.
    • If you see something that could harm a young person, report it immediately.

  1. Be a Citizen, Not a Bot
    234Voter is for real people.
    • Do not create multiple accounts to “rig” the analytics.
    • We use NIN-level verification standards to ensure that every voice counted is a real Nigerian.

  1. How We Handle “Bad Belle” (Reporting)
If you see a post that breaks these rules:
    1. Hit the “Report” button on 234voter App.
    2. State the Reason: (e.g., Hate speech, False info, Tribalism).
    3. Our Team Acts: We review reports within 24–48 hours as required by the NITDA Code of Practice 2026. If a post breaks the law, we take it down.
